The Summer House is a lively gathering place, in the heart of Walker Landing overlooking Callawassie Creek, and is the venue of choice for the Island’s robust Performing Arts program where Members enjoy everything from Blues to classical to Tribute Band performances. Also, home to the monthly Trust Talks that expose the Members to a wide variety of educational and informative topics, as well as the popular Member Potlucks. With no rules or expectations, one member perfectly captured the spirit when they said, "sometimes we end up with 15 entrees and sometimes there are 15 desserts." The evening quickly shifts from friendly hellos to deep connections, as neighbors become dear friends sharing laughs, stories, and food.
Members gather at The Bonny Shore Gazebo to roast oysters pulled straight out of beautiful Callawassie Creek, the backdrop for this breathtaking venue. By far the best spot for enjoying sunsets on Spring Island, Bonny Shore was the location of the events of the Walker family in the 1960’s and 70’s. Built by the Walkers when Spring Island was one of the Southeast’s legendary quail hunting plantations, developers saw the value here. When planning the current Spring Island community they chose to set this prime piece of property aside for all residents of the Island to enjoy.
