Connections to Last a Lifetime

At Spring Island, we believe in the transformative power of lifelong learning to enrich lives and foster community. Our programs are designed to inspire, educate, and connect individuals of all ages, creating lasting memories and meaningful experiences. It’s the kind of place where kids, grandparents, and everyone in between can laugh, learn, and make memories that stick. With Member-driven activities like beekeeping, woodworking, metalworking, Spring Riders cycling, mahjong, book clubs, and all kinds of fun social events, it won't take long to feel right at home.

We’re all about growing minds, feeding imaginations, and having a whole lot of fun along the way. So bring your curiosity (and maybe your sketchbook or garden gloves) and join us in a joyful journey of creativity, community, and lifelong learning.

Explore Nature

Engage with thought leaders, scholars, artists, naturalists, and environmentalists through our weekly Trust Talks series - an enriching program that brings nationally recognized experts to Spring Island to share insights on a wide range of topics. From international affairs and cyber fraud to Lowcountry history, conservation, and alligator research, these talks spark curiosity and deepen understanding of both the natural world and the broader issues shaping it. Thanks to the connections of our Members, past speakers have included Pulitzer Prize-winning authors, New Yorker contributors, and leading academics. Trust staff also regularly share updates on land stewardship, conservation efforts, and educational initiatives happening right here on the Island.

Master Naturalist

As landowners, Members are stewards of one-third of Spring Island’s land and play a vital role in preserving its natural beauty. To support this responsibility, the Trust encourages participation in our acclaimed Master Naturalist program - a twelve-day, hands-on course offered in partnership with Clemson University. Through immersive, field-based learning, Members gain a deeper understanding of Lowcountry ecology, get to know the island’s diverse plant and animal life, and develop an even greater appreciation for the extraordinary landscape we call home.
